Just for the record, this sentence right here is about 39 words, so I can only imagine how much success you will have explaining the convoluted origin (or should I say, originS) of J'onn J'onnz, the Manhunter from Mars.

Look, J'onn is just zis guy, you know?
"J'onn J'onzz, a martian, was transported to Earth by a scientist. Unable to return to Mars, J'onn became a crimefighter, and a founding member of the JLA. His devotion to the League helped replace the sense of community he had lost upon the untimely death of his Martian family."

Which makes me wonder... why didn't J'onn have a problem with actively working side-by-side with Fire? Hmm.
J'onn J'onnz, Martian policeman, was accidentally transported to earth following the extinction of his people. He used his special abilities (including shape-shifting and telepathy) to become a detective and JLA member. Among the most powerful of the League, his sole weakness is fire. He has a fondness for Oreos.
