What weird point in comic book history would you like to see a return to?

To wit, readers of Wonder Woman #1

have seen that Diana Prince has returned to the comic book, like during the late 60s when Wonder Woman went by "Diana Prince" and wore a white jumpsuit and fought crime as basically a secret agent.

So, what other weird points in comic book history would you like to see have a comeback in 2006?

How about that time in Marvel history when they could publish bizarre stuff like the original Deathlok and War of the Worlds and Howard the Duck without worrying "But how will this fit into our company-wide crossover event which will change the course of our comics forever until next year?"

I'd also like to go back to that weird point in comic book history when there were comics on newsstands and Diamond didn't control everything.

Man, it would be awesome to see either company come out with books without tying into each other.

That's the second time since I've bought Wonder Woman that the white jumpsuit has made a comeback. IIRC, Jerry Ordway picked it up in his arc as well.

I would like to see a return to the Amalgam age of comics. While the crossovers that led to them were crap, and Amalgam was not exactly the height of literature, the comics were fun, and they represented a period of friendly competition and occasional collaboration between the two major companies which went into life support when Mark Gruenwald died, and was killed outright by Quesada, Jemas, and Straczynski. Anything Quesada says now just seems like kicking its corpse.
