Which Captain would Captain America like better: Kirk or Picard?

I am completely torn here.

Cap is an action-y type of guy, which would suggest Kirk.

But Captain America is also a BIT stuffy, which suggests Picard.

WHO TO CHOOSE?!?!

I'm going for Picard as well. He goes by the rules until he's pushed too far then he just starts to hand out ass kickings where Kirk is just punch, kiss, move on.

The question is, without doubt, the geekiest question ever asked. It is so geeky that were he ever to be asked the question, the Comic Shop Guy from The Simpsons would blink with disdain and say "Get a life, nerd, you're making us all look bad." Its geekitude is so intense and concentrated that it can only collapse upon itself, becoming a black hole of geekdom from which nothing can escape.

Kudos to you, Brian, kudos! This monumental achievement is no small thing.

Besides, the answer is neither Kirk nor Picard. Cap would prefer the all-American baseball-playing Benjamin Sisko from Deep Space Nine. But there's yet another possibility.

Back in the Seventies, Jonathan Frakes was employed by Marvel to make appearances at conventions in costume as Captain America. I saw him at one of those conventions, and was impressed by how well he stayed in character, especially when fans were trying to trip him up with trivia questions. He did the job with aplomb under trying circumstances, and I remember thinking at the time that Marvel ought to cast him in a movie or TV version of Captain America. Of course, that was well before anyone could possibly have known he was destined to be anything more than one of the many thousands of struggling actors looking for work in New York City. But in light of his past experience, it's not surprising that he turns out to be a good guest at conventions today.

So my vote goes with Will Riker.

By the by, as soon as I came up with the question, I thought, "Wow, what an awesome question!"

And thank you, RAB, for what will certainly end up being a future Urban Legend Revealed!!
