Monday Challenge - Which of these Wonder Man Costumes Is The Most...Unfortunate
First off, let me note that I got these pictures courtesy of my pal Mitchell's Wonder Man website, which is probably the most amazing site devoted to a lower tier character, like, EVER! Here is a link.
As for the costumes, well, Wonder Man has not had that great luck with costumes.
Which of these three do you think was he the MOST unlucky with?

Hmm... I'd say #1 is the most unfortunate. #2 is kinda cheesy, but it does have the virtue of being unusual - almost unique when it came out, I think, in being more or less a version of "street clothes" as opposed to a "costume."
#3 I actually kinda like, except for the color scheme. Something I've been thinking about after a comment about the younger Hourman's first costume on some other blog. There are a lot of terrible costumes that would become... at least serviceable, and maybe good, but for their color schemes. The purple-and-red Hourman costume is pretty awful, but replace the purple with black, and I think it'd look rather good.
I always really liked #2. It was creative, and communicated the "Hollywood" aspect of the character perfectly. To me, it's the definitive Wonder Man costume.
Though #1 is hideous, I would give the award to #3. It's just so ... wrong. Looks like a colorblind Adam Strange.
Number 3 wins. Not only is it garish, it has gas tanks or something on the back. I don't think having explosive backpacks helps much in a superhero smackdown or even a gun fight. Heck a kid with a rock and a good pitching arm could blow him up. I don't really know the character so let me know if I'm completely off base here. Plus the costume leaves nothing to the imagination. Thankfully he has the good sense to wear a protective cup.
I really like number 2. Very sixties/seventies European playboy. There just aren't enough guys in pink coats and rose sunglasses in modern comics. Our loss really. I can see him zipping to Monte Carlo in a Lambroghini.
Number 1 at least has a helmet. It's a bit gaudy but not so bad as 3.
I don't like #2 with it's distinctly 70's style and garish, oddly sized jacket, but my vote is for #3. There doesn't seem to have been a lot of thought put into it. It's like a weaker version of #1.
Number 2. I know that Wonder Man started wearing that costume when he began his acting career, but there was no really no reason his costume to reflect that. That red (!) safari jacket always made him look like a Lothario just past his prime and starting to fall out of touch with what the new generation of women find attractive.
To be honest, his first costume was always my favorite and at least choice #1 plays homage to the first costume in its color scheme.
Number 3 is probably my favorite. It has a nice retro feel to it, especially because of the jet pack, that fits in well with Wonder Man's name, itself a throwback to a time when a character wasn't saddled with whatever was the word of the day of the writer's calendar. You know what I mean, names like Cable, Forge, Husk, or Dust. Not much creativity there.
My retinas are in a coma thanks to that third one... not that the first one's very good, either.
Second one's not bad. I like his 90's costume that he wore for his series the most, I'd say.
Number one is busy, but it has an almost Kirby-ish quality to it, and number three would be fine if he lost the backpack and changed the colors.
Number two, though...he looks like he ought to be skiing. He looks like a villain from James Bond, Jr. That's not an Avenger, that's the Technicolor version of someone who's going on a drive in 1919.
